Intersection for the Arts curates live music and theater performances to appear at Off The Grid’s lunch market at 5th and Minna St. On Friday, March 16, we are happy to treat you to the live bumps of the KNUDSEN/ARKIN/COLEMAN TRIO.

Kasey Knudsen is a San Francisco based saxophonist, composer, and educator. She earned her BA in Jazz Composition from Berklee College of Music in 2001. While at Berklee, Knudsen was a featured composer for the Greg Hopkins Jazz Orchestra & the Joanne Langione Dance Company. Since relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area, Knudsen has been commissioned by the Jazzschool’s 2005 Emerging Artist Series to write and perform new work; In 2007, she was commissioned by Intersection For The Arts in collaboration with the De Young Museum to write & perform a piece inspired by the work of visual artist Deborah Oropallo.

Kasey Knudsen can be seen performing with a number of ensembles and bandleaders including Evan Francis and Spaceheater, Tune-Yards, Lisa Mezzacappa, Ted-Brinkley’s Horn Blower Cruise Ship, Graham Connah, Nathan Clevenger, Aaron Novik’s Thorny Brocky, and many many others. She currently teaches for The Jazzschool in Berkeley, CA.
