It’s a famous debate. What is the first element of hip hop? The most contested answers will be between graffiti, breakdancing or djing. But hands-down the conversation is always celebrated in the cypher or on a wall. The city has expressed its highs and woes through this culture – the world began to listen (and dance to it). Intersection for the Arts and co-conspirators Campo Santo’s mobile theater project titled “First Element“, a slick bio-diesel art bus experiment, aspire to serve an authentic moment of street art culture by captivating an audience in transit. Complete with ALL elements on board, this is true school theater in an ever evolving format. One night only – keepin’ it exclusive.
SF congregation of street art savants.
As if the watch tower was lit and neighborhood practitioners and iconoclasts answered the call. First Element (and after-party Off the Wall) brings together a curated circle of local faire visual artists, mixed discipline dancers, skilled freestyle mcs, funk, soul and flavor. The First Element/ Off the Wall fellowship includes the talents of:
Felonious (Keith Pinto, Tommy Shepherd, Dan Wolf)
Wonway Posibul (Juan Amador)
Campo Santo Street Team (Christine Jamlig, Ricky Saenz, Kelly Strickland)
Visual artists Evan Bissell, Ana Teresa Fernandez, Ricardo Richey, Favianna Rodriguez
Campo Santo designers Alejandro Acosta and Tanya Orellana
Mix’d Ingdnts (all female dance crew from Oakland)

Jocquese Whitfield Voguers
Ben V. Ho (video artist)
A sensorial evening.
After the three limited seat bus tours (between 6-9p), the night explodes into a full blown dance party, Off the Wall. Intersection will be transformed into a celebratory space filled with light, music, video, lyrics, pop lock, vogue……and the sweet and savory scent of Rocky’s Frybread, a revered pop-up SF street food vendor hustling Navajo tacos- puffed up vegan deep fried goodness with your choice of toppings: from beans, lettuce, tomatoes or honey and sugar. One ecstatic foodie on yelp described the frybread to be “a better funnel cake, a better doughnut even a better waffle”. Also, to make the night righteous, there will also be HUB favorite, Muffin Street Brewery, innovating homemade artisan brewski who has been serving the city up with vivacious stouts to delectable Belgium blondes. Other drink specials will also be within reach.
