YAAC’s Twice around the Block!

Has it really been a week since Twice around the Block?! Our interns in the Young Artists Advisory Committee (YAAC) put on a photo scavenger hunt which ran out of our new pop up art space, The Kiosk @ Mint Plaza.  The event started at 4pm and ran through to 8pm. It is safe to say it was a resounding success! The players had fun and though it was a cold night, spirits were high!

Below is some photography from the night, with written reflections from the team.

Maria:

“It was really fun watching “Twice around the block” come to life. Since I was one of the new interns joining the YAAC, I was not in the process from the very start, but this project made it possible for all of us to contribute and get to know each other better as a group. The news kiosk is really fun to use, making the project feel more serious. Till next time, we just have to make sure that people passing by recognize that there is something going on there, a fun event everyone can try out and be a part of.”

Erica:

“It was so exciting to see an idea that sounded good on paper be brought to life. The feedback from everyone playing was that it was so much fun! It was engaging to discuss the clues – which ones were difficult to find? The shots – which numbers  worked really well?  The prizes  - the ones that were reserved for the winners! It was a great team effort. Seeing the booth transform from an empty shell to a vibrant starting and finishing post was rewarding. There was even space to showcase our art prizes. We are lucky that on Friday October 19th we get the chance to play again!”

With a small amount of fine tuning, the YAAC team are excited to offer another chance to play on Friday 19th October. To register please click: http://twicearoundtheblock.eventbrite.com/
