Grant Writing for the Arts Workshop

A virtual grant writing workshop for arts organizations with a focus on Zellerbach Family Foundation Community Arts COVID Response Grants.

Learn the basics of writing a compelling grant proposal in a 2.5-hour, interactive workshop tailored to the needs of arts organizations. We’ll use the 2021 Zellerbach Family Foundation’s Community Arts COVID Response Grant Guidelines and Application as our example when we discuss: how to interpret grant guidelines, create compelling narratives and budgets, and provide work samples that wow. Those interested in applying for a Zellerbach Family Foundation’s Community Arts COVID Response grant can get a start start in thinking about and working on your first or next proposal.

NOTE: All Zellerbach Family Foundation Community Arts grants including Project, Stability, Collaboration and Training grants have been temporarily suspended and replaced with the Community Arts COVID Response Grants (Response Grants). Response Grants will provide general operating support to arts and culture organizations in Alameda, Contra Costa, and San Francisco counties suffering revenue loss due to the closure of venues and cancellation of events. Response grants will be for organizational stability/general operating support, and will be awarded for $5,000, $10,000 or $15,000.

Open to all grant writing skill levels. Zoom link provided upon registration. This workshop is facilitated by Intersection for the Arts’ new Grant Specialist, Krista Smith, an artist and strategic planning and development consultant passionate about nurturing an economically strong and equitable arts community.
