Intersection Co-Presents: “What She Said: The Art of Pauline Kael” at the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival
Intersection is pleased to co-present “What She Said: The Art of Pauline Kael” at the 39th San Francisco Jewish Film Festival.
Born on a Petaluma chicken farm to Polish Jewish emigres, Kael began her career as a single mother reading reviews on Berkeley public radio, eventually becoming a powerful and contentious film critic at the New Yorker. This documentary is a portrait of Pauline Kael, honoring her life and work with the same passion and wittiness that Kael herself possessed. Directed by New York-based writer and filmmaker Rob Garver, “What She Said: The Art of Pauline Kael” is a love letter to one of the most influential voices in American film writing in the 20th century.
