Empower your own art practice by creating a sustainable art budget. We will use real-world examples and mind-mapping techniques to develop project budgets that reflect your artistic as well as business vision. Ideal for the solo artist looking to build a sustainable art practice.
This workshop is part of a 2-part series, but can be taken individually.
Ideal for individual artists who are visual learners and mindfulness practitioners. Open to all ages and all levels of art and/or business experience. Some familiarity with mindfulness practice is helpful, but not required.
About the presenter:
Yeu “Q” Nguyen is a full-time visual artist, museum educator, and cultural producer best known for her hypnotic light arts, intricately crafted objects, and public programs rich in cultural symbolism and social empathy. Her expansive repertoire of works have appeared at prestigious venues such as the Autry’s SouthWest Museum, the Laemmle Theatres, the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art, as well as urban spaces and public parks throughout Los Angeles County. Q has received multiple municipal and cultural grant awards for her temporary public art project Weaving Hope, which travels to different cities in LA County in its mission to gather over one thousand personal definitions of hope and uplift community resilience through art and art-making. Some of her upcoming projects include commissions and exhibitions at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, Tongva Park in Santa Monica, and Geffen Playhouse in Westwood.
