Overdose Recognition & Response Training

Intersection for the Arts is partnering with the San Francisco Department of Health to offer a free, in-person Overdose Recognition & Response Training for artists and arts organizers.

This training will give artists and arts organizers a foundational understanding of how the body reacts to an overdose and how the naloxone nasal spray (Narcan) works to reverse a drug overdose to save someone’s life. By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose using naloxone.

Free packages of Narcan will be available to participants (limited to one package per person).

Registration is free, but space is limited to 20 participants. Registration is required. If you can no longer attend after signing up, please cancel your registration so we can make room for more participants.

LOCATION: This training will be held in-person at Intersection for the Arts, located at 1446 Market St, San Francisco, CA 94102.

ACCESSIBILITY: This session will be ASL accessible with live interpretation. The main entrance to Intersection for the Arts, located on Market Street, has a flight of stairs. If you require elevator access, please contact Claire Astrow, claire(at)theintersection.org. She can assist your entrance through the elevator access located on Fell Street. Additional accessibility accommodation can best be fulfilled when communicated within 48 hours of the workshop start time by emailing Claire: amy(at)theintersection.org.
